This photograph of Longstreet was taken in 1872 while he was living in New Orleans, LA.
As a result of his near-fatal wound at the battle of the Wilderness on May 6, 1864 in nearly the same area and on almost the same day that Jackson had been killed the year before, Longstreet still has almost no use of his right arm. |
